There has been a long history of dark, shadowy, gigantic & elusive manipulation by Big Corporations & Industries of fostering what can be called as "paid science" analogous & akin to paid media. It usually has the same well knit pattern, hire a bunch of influential scientists or science giants, pay them up, ask them to publish results of some fictitious experimental studies and then bullhorn those results far & wide, which always will be such as to vehemently deny any harmful effects of your product. Then use your stupendous fortune to pump up political and bureaucratic support and effectively rule out any possibility of any restrictions. Simple.
And yeah label any sincere nerds who oppose you or even question the safeness of your products as " conspiracy theorists ". *Dusts Hands*
